Greetings Decision maker,
Starting a new job is like diving into a swimming pool. A refreshing and invigorating dive can make for a memorable experience, while a belly flop can leave you in pain and feeling embarrassed. The onboarding process is the dive, and just like a dive, when done poorly, it can leave lasting consequences on new hires, especially remote and hybrid workers. And according to a recent survey by Paychex, many new hires struggle to start swimming. Only 52% of new hires feel satisfied with their onboarding experience, with 32% finding it confusing and 22% disorganized. Remote workers fare worse, with 36% of them finding the process baffling.
What can be done to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding process? Check out this blog to learn more.

“Dr. Tsipursky gave perhaps the best webinar I was involved with at RIMS. He engaged wonderfully with our members and his virtual presentation attracted a wider, global audience. I look forward to future collaborations.”

What's Up With Me
You know what I’m not looking forward to? The fourth great wave of post-Labor Day RTO debates. Starting in 2021, so many companies started announcing RTO efforts around Labor Day, and we’re seeing the same again this year. It’s unfortunate that so many leaders still want to turn back the clock, and see this turning of the seasons as an opportune time to do so. It would be much better if they could accept the new reality and let folks go do their work, trusting them to be adults and do their jobs responsibly, while holding them accountable - trust, but verify. After all, previous Labor Day RTO announcements did not result in a meaningful increase in “butts in seats” due to noncompliance and resistance - workers did not feel that just
because it’s September versus August, that meant they need to deal with the stress of the commute to take Zoom calls from their desks. How many more times do you think the Labor Day RTO two-step will repeat?
