Greetings Decision Maker,
Laptops opened, teams formed, and within hours non-destructive testing professionals moved from whiteboard sketches to working artificial intelligence agents tied to real inspection scenarios. At the American Society for Nondestructive Testing’s annual meeting in Orlando, the format shifted from listening to building as members advanced through a guided sequence that culminated in a live demo round.
This approach transfers skills, strengthens a tech-forward brand, and creates a clear business case for sponsors who want meaningful engagement. Any professional association can adapt this model for member learning, positioning, and non-dues revenue.

“We had Dr. Gleb come out to Arizona to present to our members at our annual conference, and he greatly exceeded our expectations. We received fabulous reviews about how insightful it was and how it challenged our audience to think differently and explore the new ideas that Dr. Gleb discussed. Working with Dr. Gleb to prepare was a pleasure. He thoroughly customized his remarks well to address the needs of the many different CPAs and finance professionals we had attending. Dr. Gleb's highly engaging and dynamic delivery impressed our attendees. I strongly recommend him for anyone who's seeking a leadership speaker who speaks to the analytical mind.”

What's Up With Me
|
|
I recently experienced an unfortunate situation with a speaking engagement. I was scheduled to present "Stop Overpaying for AI: How You Can Build Custom Solutions for a Fraction of Vendor Costs" to a peer executive group—part of a chain where I present regularly. Since chairs typically welcome guests for networking and recruiting purposes, I asked permission to invite local executives. The chair agreed, requesting their information in advance.
After several executives confirmed interest and I introduced them by email, the chair sent an angry message saying I needed permission before inviting guests—and withdrew the speaking invitation. Confused, I searched my inbox and found his original email clearly welcoming guests. I forwarded it to him but received no response.
It's disappointing. His members miss out on the presentation, I lose the opportunity to share valuable insights (and the honorarium), and emotions got in the way of good decision-making. We all fall prey to this sometimes, but it's a reminder that even in business, people make emotionally-driven mistakes. Some things you simply can't plan for or control—time to move on. |
