Greetings Decision maker
,

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon recently claimed that a return to office will help improve workforce diversity. And if he’s right, that’s an important argument for office-centric work. After all, extensive research shows that improving diversity boosts both decision-making and financial performance.

Yet does office-centric work really improve workforce diversity? Meta Platforms – the owner of Facebook and Instagram – decided to offer permanent, fully-remote work options to its current employees and new job applicants as part of adapting to the post-pandemic environment. If Dimon is right, this shift should have undermined Meta’s diversity. But that’s not what happened.

Dr. Gleb Tsipursky led one of the most highly rated webcasts offered by the Society for Human Resource Management. 99.3% of those in attendance said they would recommend the program to a colleague, and more than 8 in 10 gave it the highest rating available. This comes as no surprise to me. Both Dr. Gleb's content and presentation style were top notch. He managed to relay complex concepts and insights with compelling case studies and even a touch of humor. On our post-event survey, one of the HR professionals viewing the program wrote that Dr. Gleb provided "Very useful info that can be easily applied (and immediately)." Like our audience, we look forward to more programs with him in the future.

What's Up With Me

With the recent Russian rocket and drone strikes on Kyiv, I’m worried about my relatives there. I was really worried in the first month when the Russians looked like they might surround Kyiv, and were shelling the outskirts with artillery. But then the Ukrainian forces - with the help of western weapons - drove them off. Since then, things had been relatively calm for the last few months. Now, the Russians are using cruise missiles and drones to bomb Kyiv once again. I’m very much hoping my family stays safe. Let’s do what we can to support Ukraine in the war against Russian aggression and make sure any other dictators think twice before trying to conquer another country.

Recommendations for You

When you think about change in your organization, what comes to mind? If it’s just big things like a merger, new CEO, or migration to a new software program, you’re missing the most important stuff. As Melina Palmer, CEO of The Brainy Business shares in her new book, What Your Employees Need and Can’t Tell You (which I had the honor of writing the foreword for), change is much more than that. She explains the importance of micro-moments and how the everyday changes that seem small are critical moments of opportunity. As Melina says, “They are the snowflakes that come together to form a snowball of change.” Her book is available now on Amazon, you can get yours here.
