Disaster Avoidance Experts

Greetings Decision maker,

In a world where we’ve seen five consecutive quarters of declining productivity in the U.S. according to a study by EY-Parthenon using Bureau of Labor Statistics, one would think that CEOs and company leaders would question their tactics. After all, over two-thirds of business leaders report they’re under immense pressure to squeeze more productivity out of their workers, according to a new Slack survey of 18,000 knowledge workers. Yet despite the overwhelming evidence that flexible hybrid work is more productive than forced in-office work for the same roles, top executives are stubbornly herding employees back to the office like lost sheep, expecting productivity to miraculously improve. This, my friends, is the very definition of insanity.

Testimonial by Madison Ongstad, Learning Manager of Arizona Society of CPAs, for Dr. Gleb Tsipursky

We had Dr. Gleb come out to Arizona to present to our members at our annual conference, and he greatly exceeded our expectations. We received fabulous reviews about how insightful it was and how it challenged our audience to think differently and explore the new ideas that Dr. Gleb discussed. Working with Dr. Gleb to prepare was a pleasure. He thoroughly customized his remarks well to address the needs of the many different CPAs and finance professionals we had attending. Dr. Gleb's highly engaging and dynamic delivery impressed our attendees. I strongly recommend him for anyone who's seeking a leadership speaker who speaks to the analytical mind.

What's Up With Me

As we come to the end of the year and I reflect on it, I feel a fundamental tension.

On the one hand, global events are bringing me down. The war in Ukraine, my fatherland (literally - that’s where my dad is from) is rolling onward without looking like it will be over anytime soon. And Ukraine’s allies appear to be weakening in their resolve to support it, which I see as a big mistake. Moreover, the war between Israel and Hamas is raging, and many of my relatives in Israel are caught up in that struggle.

On the other hand, my personal life is going really well, in most areas. My consulting business is thriving, since so many clients need help figuring out hybrid work arrangements. My wife (and business partner) Agnes Vishnevkin and I continue to have a wonderful relationship that I wouldn’t give up for the world. I have great friends and a cat that mellowed out and became more cuddly over the last several years. While I recently had a couple of health scares, all but one were resolved (still waiting to see a specialist for the remaining one).

So while it’s hard to feel good about the past year, it’s also hard to feel bad. What I’m asking Santa for this year is for my personal life to stay the same, and for the global situation to improve drastically.
