Greetings Decision maker
,

Forward-looking organizations use hybrid and remote mentoring to solve one of the biggest challenges in hybrid and remote work: on-the-job training and integration of junior employees. Yet despite solving this major problem, such mentoring programs pairing recently-hired staff with senior employees are all-too-rare. Instead of using this best practice methodology, many leaders simply complain about how hybrid and remote work undermines on-the-job training and employee integration, and try to force employees to return to the office.

Recommendations for You

Here are a few pieces of content that I found valuable and hope you will, too:

  • “How People Think” (article) offers 17 insights into broad and non-intuitive tendencies in how we think, ranging from insufficiently appreciating the perspectives of others to underestimating the amount of hassle we will have to deal with to accomplish major goals. Which of these insights are most relevant to you?
  • ”How Science Fuels a Culture of Misinformatio” (article) describes how we tend to blame the glut of disinformation in science on social media and the news, but the problem often starts with the scientific enterprise itself, due to insufficient transparency and click-baity communication tactics. As a science communicator myself, it’s something I have to keep in mind.
  • ”How Psychedelic Drugs Might Treat Depression” (article) talks about how hallucinogenic mushrooms have shown promise for their medical benefits, and we are now beginning to understand how they might help to treat depression. To be honest, I was initially skeptical of the promise of ‘shrooms, but the new evidence is more and more convincing.

Hope you find these recommendations helpful!
