Greetings Decision maker
,

Elon Musk recently demanded that all Tesla staff return to office full-time, according to an email sent to executive staff and leaked on social media. Musk said those who don’t want to come to office should “pretend to work somewhere else.” This authoritarian, top-down approach rooted in mistrust and false assumptions goes against best practices. It speaks to an illusion of control that will undermine employee productivity, engagement, innovation, retention, and recruitment at Tesla.

“Dr. Tsipursky was very well received by the Los Angeles Section of the American Society for Quality at our online meeting. Our group of Quality Assurance professionals lead problem solving and corrective action teams in a variety of industries. His topic, "The Neuroscience of Avoiding Decision-Making Disasters," reminded us "what keeping an open mind" is all about. He has a very engaging way of putting questions out to the audience and including them in the presentation. We had many great comments of appreciation for his presentation that evening. Thank you, Gleb!”

What's Up With Me

My wife (and business partner) Agnes Vishnevkin and I just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary with a nice dinner on a local restaurant’s patio (we’re not eating indoors given COVID is still a serious issue). It’s so wonderful to have a relationship where we’ve gotten to know each other so deeply, yet we often continue to find out new things about each other.

For example, we were recently discussing what we each meant by the term “materialistic.” Turns out that she uses the term to refer to things, whereas I use it more broadly to also refer to services and to money itself. That’s a salient difference, especially due to the ethical overtones associated with the term.

We discovered this difference at one of our regular relationship check-ins, which we do every two weeks in order to strengthen and improve our relationship. In order for a relationship to stand the test of time, it’s critical to maintain, repair, and invest in it, and I look forward to cultivating our relationship for the rest of my life.
