What's Up With Me
My wife (and business partner) Agnes Vishnevkin and I just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary with a nice dinner on a local restaurant’s patio (we’re not eating indoors given COVID is still a serious issue). It’s so wonderful to have a relationship where we’ve gotten to know each other so deeply, yet we often continue to find out new things about each other.
For example, we were recently discussing what we each meant by the term “materialistic.” Turns out that she uses the term to refer to things, whereas I use it more broadly to also refer to services and to money itself. That’s a salient difference, especially due to the ethical overtones associated with the term.
We discovered this difference at one of our regular relationship check-ins, which we do every two weeks in order to strengthen and improve our relationship. In order for a relationship to stand the test of time, it’s critical to maintain, repair, and invest in it, and I look forward to cultivating our relationship for the rest of my
life.
