Greetings Decision Maker,
A synthetic voice calls a parent in a moment of panic, and the fear sounds real. A chatbot drafts an exploit in minutes, then an “agent” strings the steps together without pausing for supervision. Meanwhile, a model release cycle moves faster than the AI safety institutions tasked with monitoring what these systems can do. The latest International AI Safety Report 2026 captures that acceleration in crisp, unsettling detail.
The report’s biggest takeaway is that capability gains keep widening the number of harm pathways, while real-world visibility into misuse grows much more slowly.

“Thank you for the contribution that you provided to my Vistage group. I think many of my group members understand the importance of AI, but they didn't realize how much they could actually do themselves. So I think this was well past AI 101. This actually gave them tools and “aha” moments on what they can do, and also what's possible, so they can ask as leaders the right questions in the organization. So fantastic. I really appreciate your time.”

What's Up With Me
Gardening is my favorite hobby, and right now is the time for spring planting. Unfortunately, my travel and recent health issues with the DVT diagnosis are derailing my plans. I just returned from a three-week trip to Portland, San Diego, and Phoenix, where I gave one keynote and four corporate training sessions on AI adoption, ranging from a half-day to a day each. Then, I'll be traveling to give a keynote in Savannah on that topic, and then back to San Diego for another training session. While I'm at home, I need to attend follow-up medical appointments. While I'm grateful to be busy, I do regret how it's impacting my gardening. Being able to grow things with my own hands is so rewarding, and I get so much joy from eating the veggies and fruit that I have grown. I'm hoping my schedule will allow me time to do at least some work in the garden this month.
In the meantime, here is a photo of some radishes I harvested around this time last year. |
