Greetings Decision maker,
Recent corporate board meetings share one agenda item: survival in a stall. Fresh numbers from the Bureau of Economic Analysis show real GDP slipping 0.3 percent in the first quarter of 2025, the first retreat in eighteen months. Four days after the end of the first quarter, a blanket 10 percent tariff took effect, and a second order layered steeper surcharges on top trading partners, instantly increasing input costs. This one-two punch of shrinking output and swelling costs leaves executives hungry for a lever that widens margins without hacking payroll. Generative AI answers that need, turning cost pressure into a catalyst for rapid, targeted productivity gains.

It’s amusing to me when I see social media posts making fun of Gen AI bloopers, but not for the reason the posters think. Sure, it makes mistakes, especially when people don’t know how to prompt it correctly. And sometimes there are ham-handed interventions by Gen AI companies, such as xAI’s Grok recently making nonsensical comments about South Africa. But having consulted for a number of companies on helping them integrate Gen AI into their work, I’ve seen from the inside how much efficiency gains the companies get. And using Gen AI agents using the company’s own data greatly cuts down on mistakes. I think many of the people posting about Gen AI mistakes are either showing anxiety about its power or are simply blind to its potential.
Here’s one Gen AI blooper I experienced recently when generating an image for a DIY sushi party invite. The AI interpreted my request for an image of hand rolls as something that includes actual hands, despite multiple instructions directing it to remove the hands. Strange as this was, I know that we can’t dismiss the incredible power and promise of Gen AI solely because of absurd errors like these. |
