Greetings Decision maker,
In a world where Gen AI has become an integral part of our daily lives, resistance is not only futile but counterproductive. The arrival of large language models like ChatGPT has transformed the way we work, learn, and communicate. While some may view this as a threat, Ethan Mollick, a professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, presents it as an opportunity. His own view aligns with the kind of recommendations I make to companies when helping them figure out how to use AI effectively in their systems and processes. The AI tide is rising, and it's time for companies to ride the wave rather than hold it back.

This is a photo of a major event in my life: getting LASIK surgery done to correct my vision. I’ve had glasses ever since I was a little kid, and my vision was worse than -7 diopters for both eyes. For those who never had to deal with severe nearsightedness, here’s how ChatGPT defines -7 diopters: “Without corrective lenses, a person with -7.00 vision will struggle to see anything clearly beyond approximately 5–6 inches (13–15 cm) from their eyes.” Yes, that means I was blind as a bat and completely dependent on my glasses. Shockingly, I’m writing these words right now without having to rely on glasses to see the computer screen. It’s amazing how much a 15-minute procedure can do. It makes me truly grateful for the advancements of technology and privileged to live in this age. Can you imagine that even the most wealthy and powerful people in the world couldn’t access such technology even 40 years ago? What wonders will future technology reveal for improving our condition? |
