Due to strong employee resistance and turnover, trillion-dollar companies such as Google and Amazon recently backtracked from their plans to force employees to return back to the office. Their screw-ups cost them many millions of dollars and serious losses to morale.

What's Up With Me

The Delta variant is becoming a really serious problem in the US, with cases skyrocketing from just over 10,000 to over 50,000 in a couple of weeks. I am doubling down on my more risk-averse approach of resuming wearing masks and other COVID safety measures. As a public figure and a thought leader on COVID safety, I feel that it’s important for me to set a good example.

That’s especially since I’ll be giving my first in-person talk in well over a year. It will be an opening keynote on managing risks for the nuclear energy industry, which will set the tone for their annual conference. I want to make sure that there’s no chance of me getting anyone else sick at this event of about 300 people. (By the way, if you are in Southwest Florida, shoot me an email, perhaps we can meet up.)
