Greetings Decision Maker,
Remote work has become a game-changer for older individuals with disabilities, offering a solution that not only improves their employment prospects but also brings substantial economic benefits, according to a new study from the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. Before the pandemic, many older workers with disabilities faced significant barriers to remaining employed. However, the rise of telework during COVID-19 has enabled this demographic to continue working, contributing to a more inclusive labor force.

“We have been working with Dr. Gleb to revisit and revamp and revise our flex hybrid work arrangements here at the foundation. We started by really setting our goals through a culture vision that really helped us stay centered on what we were trying to accomplish. From there, we launched into a full staff assessment and really letting staff speak to what is working what wasn't working and what they were really wanting to get out of this process. The following steps through the work plan and the roadmap, putting it all together, took us some time, and now roughly about eight, nine months later we're into the implementation. So, it has definitely been a process that got us to where we wanted to go. We arrived at a really productive, exciting step. And now we get to move forward with meeting what both the foundation needs and what meets the needs of staff.”

What's Up With Me
|
|
Last week, I shared about a situation where I lost a scheduled speaking engagement for a peer executive group for an AI adoption training titled "Stop Overpaying for AI" after the chair organizing the talk withdrew the invitation. Despite receiving prior written approval to invite local executive guests, the chair later reacted with anger, claiming I lacked permission to do so. Clearly, he forgot our earlier exchange. Fortunately, I still had the email where he approved me inviting guests, so I forwarded it to him. This week, he actually apologized, which was gratifying to see. Many people would have been too embarrassed to write back, even when they are clearly in the wrong. Hey, maybe it's a Christmas miracle! This helped restore some faith in humanity.
