Greetings Decision maker
,

Organizations must learn to incorporate constructive feedback from stakeholders to survive these turbulent economic times as the world grapples with pandemic-related disruptions. Securing constructive feedback is critical in helping you find out which of your decisions are working and which ones are not. Yet, many organizations struggle to cultivate effective engagement with their stakeholders due to a reluctance to incorporate – and act upon – feedback. This leads to the development of communication gaps between executives and the stakeholders.

"I heard Dr. Tsipursky speak at both a Columbus Metropolitan Club Forum and a Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) Conference. I was impressed both times. I left the conference session in particular with several action steps, and have been especially surprised that he's followed up with me on those steps to provide further assistance as I try to apply what I've learned from him. I highly recommend Dr. Tsipursky as a very knowledgeable expert in his field who teaches people how to actually put knowledge into action after his presentation."

What's Up With Me

This is my favorite time of the year for flowers. My wife and business partner Agnes Vishnevkin and I recently went to our local botanical garden and enjoyed lilacs, early peonies, and very late tulips. Lilacs especially are resonant for me: their heady scent signals to me that Spring is truly and fully here, and Summer is just around the corner. I grew up in a climate where lilacs are common, and I truly missed them during the 6 years I spent living in North Carolina, where it’s too warm for lilacs to grow. When we bought our house in Columbus, Ohio, several years ago we were thrilled to discover it has a beautiful lilac bush, and we've since added a few more.

What are your favorite flowers? What kind of associations do you have with them?

Here are a few articles that I found valuable and hope you will, too:

  • Get Comfortable with Feeling Uncomfortable discusses the value of seeking discomfort in the quest for personal growth. This article challenges us to lean into discomfort and to see it as a sign of growth, rather than an unavoidable and unpleasant side effect. The article describes studies that support the value of this reframing for our ability to succeed in our personal growth.
  • Why Are Watches Usually Set to 10:10 in Advertisements? This article shares a surprising and interesting perspective on something you may not expect to have an impact on marketing, but turns out to be quite valuable.
  • What We Don't Want to Know explores the benefits of deliberate ignorance. It challenges the common notion that knowledge is inherently valuable and points out some occasions when it’s better for us not to know.
