Greetings Decision maker
,

We tend to greatly underestimate the importance and impact of emotions in business and personal settings, a dangerous judgment error called the empathy gap. To address this problem, we need to deploy emotional intelligence, which refers to the skill of understanding and managing your own emotions, and social intelligence, meaning the ability to understand and influence other people’s emotions and relationships.

“I had the great pleasure of having Dr. Gleb work with two of my groups last week. Everybody loved it, the content was fantastic. In one group in particular, I had a couple of newer Vistage members speak with me after the session, and they were extremely enthusiastic about the program as it gave them some language and some concepts to be able to articulate things that they noticed both in their organizations and with themselves. If you like to think about the way you think and you want to improve the decisions that you make, I think that bringing in Dr. Gleb to work with your group or as a keynote would be an excellent use of time and resources.

What's Up With Me

The start of summer means strawberry season at our house. Our strawberry patch has finally matured, so I don’t feel a draw to go strawberry picking anymore.

Our strawberry patch is part of a gradual shift my wife and business partner Agnes Vishnevkin and I have been working on for several years: to grow more food and have less lawn. Lawns are quite problematic from the perspective of biodiversity and climate change. By growing more of our own food and reducing our lawn, we not only have a healthier and tastier diet, but also reduce our carbon footprint. Besides, gardening is a good form of exercise in fresh air and a fun collaborative project on which we can work together.

Gardening is a great form of goal factoring, meaning achieving a number of goals through a single activity. Do you have any goals you can factor together to spend less time and effort while getting the same or even better outcome?
