Greetings Decision Maker,
The introduction of generative AI (Gen AI) into workplaces offers remarkable potential for innovation and efficiency, but it often arrives with a shadow of doubt. Employees often view AI as a threat to their roles, fearing displacement, surveillance, or an overwhelming shift in their day-to-day responsibilities. These fears are not only understandable but also predictable, given the often hyperbolic narratives and misinformation surrounding AI. Addressing these concerns effectively smooths the path for AI integration while empowering employees to embrace the technology as a tool for growth.

What's Up With Me
I’m writing this from the hospital, where I was admitted after a CT scan for persistent right-sided chest pain found an unexpected issue in my right lung. The good news is that the scan showed no blood clot in my lungs, which was the original concern given my recent serious leg clot. The unexpected finding was a roughly 4 cm hollow area in the lower part of my right lung, with fluid around the lung. The doctors think it may be a serious lung infection, though my case is unusual because I have not had the typical symptoms: no fever, no cough, no shortness of breath, no chills, and no night sweats. The medical team is treating this seriously, with IV antibiotics and testing to rule out other possibilities, including tuberculosis. I’m stable, functioning normally, and in good spirits, but I’ll likely be in the hospital for several days while they clarify the diagnosis and treatment plan. While this is obviously not great, I’m glad they caught this issue and am grateful for the wonders of modern medicine. |
